Q: My puppies have been exposed to parvo but have not shown any symptoms yet. Can I use your products for preventative purpose?

A: I get this question a lot from breeders, groomers, kennel operators, doggy daycare and those who frequent dog shows. There are a few things you can do if you are concerned about your puppies, dogs or other pets.

A: There is a wide range of opinions on this. Some say 1 year or more, others say 6 months, and I have introduced animals to a cleaned up parvo environment after 3 months without incident.

There are likely a few factors to consider. How well is the environment cleaned and disinfected? This includes the lawn, decks and anywhere urine, feces, blood, saliva, vomit and bile have contact. Is there still a threat of the parvo virus around (other dogs infected)? How well has the animal healed? And how strong is the immune system of the pet of concern?

Virus and bacteria are all around us. Those who get sick have a weaker immune defence system. You must ask why and how you can improve that permanently in order to help the pets get stronger and more vibrant. A pet with a healthy immune system and vitality will have a much better chance of survival against any infection or illness. You may need to consider diet change, exercise level, choice of medicine and products (when needed), vaccinate or not, pack leadership and family dynamics (stressors).

Q: I (human) have food poisoning and I am getting so much better after 3 doses of the WildPets BIO Defense Formula, do I really need to give it for the full 10 days?
